President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III anew over the supposed lies that the network aired against him in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
In a speech in Cagayan de Oro City Saturday (September 9), Duterte cursed Lopez over his purported love of money and ABS-CBN’s supposed bias against him and his family.
“At si Gabby Lopez ng ABS, andiyan, sinabi ko, “Mukha kang pera. P***** i** mo,'” he said.
“And they were foisting this lie that I was having 200 million, itong — itong anak ko ngayon, we were the favorite targets,” Duterte added.
ABS-CBN was one of the networks which reported on Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s allegation during the campaign season that Duterte had over P2 billion in undeclared deposits in his bank accounts.
After Duterte won, he accused ABS-CBN of failing to deliver on its promise of airing his ads.
